Hutchinson girls tennis extended its winning to streak to six, Thursday, and claimed its first Wright County Conference victory with a sweep at the Willmar triangular.
The Tigers (1-0 WCC, 6-0) got their first taste of the newest WCC competition, New London-Spicer, and made quick work of it with a 6-1 victory. All three doubles teams won in two sets, and all but Hutch?s No. 1 singles got wins.
Willmar?s match was a bit tighter, but Hutch was able to hold on for a 4-3 win. This time Willmar won the No. 1 singles and doubles matches, and claimed the No. 2 singles, but the Tigers won out in the rest.
No. 3 and No. 4 singles players Ellyssa Hoversten and Tayla Card remained undefeated this year with 5-0 records.
At the No. 2 doubles spot, Hannah Starke and Manjari Ojha paired up for the first time this year and went undefeated in what could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
