U.S. Rep. Tim Scott re-elected to GOP leadership post

U.S. Rep. Tim Scott was re-elected today to the Republicans? congressional leadership hierarchy.

Two years ago, Scott?s Republican colleagues tapped him as one of 12 members of the party?s Elected Leadership Committee, and he was re-elected to that group.

?I survived another election,? Scott joked shortly after the vote.

Scott had held his past leadership post along with Rep. Kristi Noem, R-S.D., but Scott will be the only sophomore member of the party?s congressional leadership team during the upcoming year.

?We get together on a weekly basis to figure out where we?re going as a (Republican) conference, how to communicate that and make it happen,? he said.
